Grief and Loss
Grief is a natural reaction to any form of loss, especially someone’s death. It goes beyond mere sadness and often evokes feelings of confusion, doubt, guilt, anger, and other complex emotions.
There’s no right way to grieve — everyone reacts to loss differently and grieves in their own way. There’s also no normal duration for grief; it may take months or years to accept the loss of a loved one. Most people can indeed recover from loss with the help of a great social support network and healthy coping mechanisms. Grief counseling provides the necessary support for those finding it hard to recover.

+ Do you have experience with working with grief and loss?
Yes, I have been working with the terminally ill and their families for over 9 years in the fields of hospice and home health. I am experienced in helping individuals process their emotions regarding a recent or past loss of a loved one, loss of cognition, loss of mobility, health decline, pet loss, child, parent, and more. I understand that grief differs from person to person. I am here to hold space for those who are grieving any loss.
+ Does loss only mean the loss due to a death?
Loss can mean many things and is not only due to a death. Loss can mean the loss of a relationship, friendship, pet, job, identity, independance, ablities, and more. I can assist with helping you with any type of grief and loss you may be going through.
+ How will I know if I am getting over my grief?
Grief can be ongoing and can last over a year for some people. You may be coping better over time if you notice that the intensity of the grief is less over time. It is never easy to have a significant loss. I am available to help you through the process. Please feel free to self-schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation with me here.
